It's been a fun year. We crowned our Sonic Smackdown 2011 champs (The Autonomics). Plus our 2012 Sonic Smackdown finalists are set. Finals TBA.
In addition to the Smackdown shows, Six DRD Records bands spent 2012 in the DRD Studios recording their respective albums.
What a year we have ahead of us. In February, We will officially open the new DRD Records Label Headquarters (http://www.drdrecords.com/our-venues.html), including our new Music Venue & Restaurant, The Analog Café and Little Theater. Located at SE 7th and Hawthorne in Portland, The newly refurbished two floor facility will feature some of the best Northwest and National artists on a nightly basis. Our PA system will be one of the best in the city, highlighted by a Midas Verona 48 board, tons of discrete outboard gear and more, delivering incredible acoustical energy to capacity crowds nearing 600 people. The first floor restaurant will boast an eclectically unique menu of delectable foods prepared by ‘Rockstar Chefs’ and certain to satisfy your palatal sensations.
On the DRD Records releases front, Smoochknob's new album ‘Drive By High Five’ hits stores 3.19.13; The Autonomics album drops 5.07.13 (with their first single / video release in March / April); Crazy Like Me's first single / video will hit the airwaves at the end of May. In between, we will be releasing the new Cellar Door EP, and crowning our Sonic Smackdown 2012 Champion! Also, Fall 2013 will bring even more new DRD releases, including new albums from Devil in Furs, as well as Ian Scott.
We want to thank all of you for your continued support of DRD Records, and of our bands. We couldn’t do it without you! We are excited for 2013 and we hope to see you all next year. As your DRD holiday present, we are leaking two songs each (see below) from the coming Autonomics & Smoochknob albums. We hope you like them as much as we do. Enjoy!
